Our approach

Our approach to Primary English

Children learn English well in a calm, small group where they are known. So we specialise in Primary English, keep every class to a strict maximum of six, and begin with a diagnostic rather than a drill.

Our Academic Leadership

Who leads teaching at The Study Suite?

Teaching at The Study Suite is led by our Academic Director, an educator with more than 10 years of MOE teaching experience who specialises in Primary English. She designed The Study Suite Method and our strict 1:6 small-group teaching, and leads our team of MOE-trained specialist educators at #03-07 Balmoral Plaza, Bukit Timah.

Academic Director and Curriculum Architect

  • 10+ years of MOE teaching experience, specialised in Primary English.
  • Experience across MOE co-ed, all-girls and all-boys schools, so she understands different student needs and learning styles.
  • Designed The Study Suite Method, our specialised Primary English curriculum for P3 to P6.
  • Shaped our 1:6 small-group teaching, with a strict maximum of six, so every child is heard and every piece of writing is read.

Clear, measurable progress

Her focus is progress you can see. Every child begins with the complimentary Writing & Oral Diagnostic, and we track progress against the same clear criteria from that first session onwards, explained to you in plain language. We do not promise grades: we show you what has improved and what comes next.

In keeping with our approach, we introduce our educators by their training and experience rather than by name.

Fewer children.

More attention.

A quiet room.

One clear focus.

Time to think.

Room to make mistakes.

The Study Suite Method

How does The Study Suite Method work?

The Study Suite Method brings together two things: a genuine relationship with each student, and teaching targeted to what that student needs next. With a strict maximum of six in every class, each child receives more individual attention than many tuition centres can offer.

01

Relationship building

We get to know each student as a person and as a learner: their interests, their confidence, and how they approach reading, writing and speaking. A trusted relationship makes it easier to ask questions and take on a challenge.

02

Targeted teaching

The diagnostic and each child’s own work show what to work on next. Teaching then targets those specific skills, at a pace that suits the child.

03

More attention

A strict maximum of six means every child is seen, heard and given specific feedback: more individual attention than many tuition centres can offer.

Why six

Why a strict maximum of six?

A class of six is large enough for children to learn from one another, and small enough for the educator to know each of them well. We keep to it at every level, with no exceptions.

  • Everyone speaks, every lesson. No one hides, and no one waits at the back.
  • Writing is read as it happens. Feedback is for your child, not for a class average.
  • Each child is known. How they think, where they hesitate, what helps.

How we work

What happens in a lesson?

Every child starts with a diagnostic, every lesson follows the same calm shape, and progress is shared with you in plain language.

01

A diagnostic first

A complimentary 30-minute Writing & Oral Diagnostic, available from November 2026, shows us where your child is now.

02

A steady structure

Every lesson follows the same calm shape, so energy goes into learning.

03

Progress you can see

We track progress against clear criteria and explain it in plain language.

Our educators

Who teaches at The Study Suite?

Every class is taught by MOE-trained specialist educators who specialise in Primary English, guided by our Academic Director. We introduce our educators by their training and approach rather than by name.

  • An educator who knows your child by name, voice and handwriting
  • Honest, specific feedback, without inflated praise or scare tactics
  • Respect for your child’s pace, alongside steady expectations
  • Progress explained to you in plain language

What we will not do

What will we never do?

Promise grades.

Publish rankings or claims we cannot stand behind.

Rely on piles of worksheets or high-pressure drilling.

Add a seventh chair to the table.

Our tagline, in practice

Learn. Grow. Belong.

Learn

Precise, structured teaching of reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking.

Grow

Confidence that comes from seeing real progress, measured the same way over time.

Belong

A steady group, a familiar educator and a calm room.

How do you work with parents?

Nobody knows your child as you do, so we start by listening. We share what the diagnostic shows in plain language and keep you updated as the term goes on. Questions are always welcome at admin@thestudysuite.com.sg or on WhatsApp at +65 8924 1309.
